Traction Joliette is daring with its mezzanine on top of shelving!

Traction Joliette chose our high-performance storage systems for their new store

Our team is proud to have supplied a mezzanine on top of shelving which doubles the available space

Traction is already well established in Quebec and across Canada. And it was now the turn of the residents of Lanaudière to benefit from a complete range of their products, and the turn of Pedlex to contribute to the grand opening of our client’s new heavy vehicle parts and accessories store.

The challenge:

Maximize efficiency and optimize available space

It is obvious that opening a new store is always very stressful, both for the business owner and for the employees.

So before opening its doors, it took a good deal of thought on the part of the project manager, who knew exactly what she wanted and presented an example of a concept realized elsewhere to our specialist, Bernard Vézina. This allowed our expert to steer his thinking in the same direction as his client:

The solution:

The use of a Rousseau “Spider” mezzanine with superimposed shelves enabled the addition of a second level of shelving. Constructed with safety barriers, these multi-level shelves made it possible to double the storage area without having to extend the building or rent space.
Of course, there had to be a clear space above ground, i.e. a ceiling more than sixteen feet off the ground. Adding drawers to the shelves (with compartmentalization for small items) reclaimed even more space, making storage truly optimal.

Plus, who says fixtures have to look ordinary? Gone are the days when you were limited to one or two color choices. With 20 standard colors to choose from, it’s easy to create the effect you want. Here, Avalanche Blue and Lustrous Yellow harmonize to perfection, and this bold duo creates a visual that stands out and will leave no one indifferent.

Our installation experts also supplied service counters with integrated storage on the second floor.

Every space planning project has its share of difficulties and readjustments along the way. In this case, the process went very smoothly. In any big project, the complicity between customer and supplier is clearly a bonus.

Installation:

Finally, every project is a challenge, and according to Bernard Vézina, you have to be ready to take it on: “Not all customers have a clear vision of what they want. Not everyone has the fierce determination to achieve their goals. Often, our role is to help the customer do just that. During this project, the person in charge demonstrated that she had heart and soul, always pushing her questioning to the limit and, at the same time, challenging us. And what a challenge it was!

For his part, our installation expert – team leader Simon Duchesneau – explains his preoccupation during the installation: “The biggest challenge with a project like Traction Joliette was that it involved several manufacturers. The challenge was to coordinate all the products to achieve an impeccable result. Being located in a commercial sector, the visual result was also essential for both the customer and us.

Another achievement we’re proud of. Now it’s your turn to challenge us!
